Spiritual meditation at its core is a mindful practice, where we enhance our connection to something greater and deeper than the individual self.
Spiritual Meditation: The Path To This Connection
The path to this connection starts with honest self-reflection, to look within one’s self. There are many types of meditation techniques to increase our spiritual awareness. Each of them requires our own integrity and authenticity when looking at ourselves and our view of the world as a whole.
Humans have always relied on the guidance of spiritual teachers. A spiritual teacher or guru is a teacher of wisdom, kindness, spiritual power, and humility. Gurus that blow smoke and toot their own horn on how spiritually enlightened they are usually are the guru types you want to avoid. These types of spiritual teachers or gurus are self-styled that can easily lead others astray whether their intentions are good or not.
Spiritual Awareness Through Meditation
Our spiritual awareness through meditation takes time, it is not achieved in a day or week. Spiritual growth takes discipline and practice to receive, or reach spiritual realization. The long-term benefits along our journey are incomparable.
Our spiritual awareness growth starts with being honest and kind, to become the best human being we can be. Individuals with a strong desire for miracles and magic make it harder for them to recognize and appreciate the marvel of just being alive. To live life and experience it to the fullest. They miss the whole miracle of everything that goes with this big blessing called life.
The Miracles and Blessings Missed
The fact that we are alive and everything that makes life possible is a huge miracle missed by people. What can be more miraculous and magical than the fact the trees are taken in the waste we exhale, and then they expel the vital oxygen we need to even be alive. The sunshine, not only experiencing the beauty of the blue-lit sky is wonderful; but the fact that all life needs the sun for survival. We need the sun’s warmth, and the vital nourishment it gives. The sunshine nourishes our bodies with vital vitamin D that we need to be healthy.
Everything is Connected
The simple act of compassion and kindness, our interconnectedness to each other, and to all that is. There are blessings of all kinds, everywhere we look. Having an appreciation of the present moment, and carrying an attitude of benevolence towards all life are the real fruits of spiritual awakening.
Successful Spiritual Meditation
The first step is to turn inward, getting to know yourself. Furthermore to find what you truly would like to change about yourself. This is a process we all go through, a commitment to self-knowledge. To acknowledge and accept yourself for who you are is the first step. Accepting yourself in your entire and making friends with yourself. Therefore, have unconditional compassion for oneself, which naturally leads to unconditional compassion for others.
When we can stand fully in our own shoes and never give up on ourselves, then we are able to fully put ourselves in the shoes of others and never give up on them. By fully accepting ourselves we can fully accept others are they are. Giving up on ourselves or others is no longer an option. When we connect with what is sacred in ourselves, we see the sacred in others also.
Release Grudges
Though it may be hard to forgive some who has hurt you. Not letting go of this hurt causes you more harm than the original pain. Holding on to past pain shows up in the physical body as an illness in some form, physical, mental, or both. Don’t let holding on to past pain hamper your spiritual growth journey. Learn to let go by practicing mindfulness. Wish the other happiness, send them good blessing thoughts. You will feel yourself becoming lighter and lighter the more you do this, and your healing has begun.
Focus on the positive aspiration for others. True spirituality focuses on benefitting others, starting with ourselves. Acceptance of who and where we are in our own lives with tenderness and benevolence. Therefore, then we can extend it out to others. When we worry less about our own frustrations and desires. The realization becomes clear that we are all the same. We all are just trying to be happy and to avoid pain. The more we are concerned for the wellbeing of others, serve them, help them, the more friends we meet, and the more smiles we make. The more we devote to others the happier we become. By becoming more compassionate and caring for others we overcome our own fears derived from self-centeredness.
Open Up To New Possibilities
We are all different in many ways. We are all living creatures and connected by universal needs and experiences. Looking for security in our wellbeing and to avoid suffering. From the earthworm to the highest ruler, none of us can possibly exist without others. Guided spiritual meditation can open us to the truth of our interconnectedness.
There is a great sense of freedom when we accept were just a small, or microdot in the greater picture. We are just a drop of water in a vast ocean. A speck of dust in the universe, a grand of sand in the desert. Therefore, understanding and truly feeling this interconnectedness with all things, our minds become open to all the possibilities this freedom presents us with.
